Some very special people

Here are a few pictures of some very special people down here in Ecuador. The first picture is of the Parra family. From left to right, Tatiana, Daniela, Senor Olger, Anabel and myself. They are home schoolers here, and so much fun to teach. The parental involvement is very encouraging to see. In this picture, the mom was resting. The next picture is of the Abril family. Abram is 14, Cristina is 12, and Emilia is 5. They are also home schoolers. The differing levels of ability make it a fun challenge to teach.

The next picture is of the Gomezcoello family, with whom I am staying. From left to right: Raquel (20), Elisa (19), myself, Josue (14), Senora Blanca, Senor Santiago, and Cristina (16). There are some close up pictures of each of the kids. I have been so blessed to be living with the Gomezcoellos. They are such an encouragement to me, and such a hospitable family. Blanca's heart for the Lord and unfailing patience with me and my language attempts is such a huge gift from the Lord.

Raquel is studying at home, taking distance courses in Education. Elisa is currently in university studying nursing. From her experiences, I think that the nursing program here in Ecuador is quite challenging. The students are in the hospital every morning, and have classes every afternoon. Elisa is away from home from about 8 every morning to 8 every night. Cristina just finished her grade 11 school year yesterday. We are praying that her visa will go through, as she is hoping to attend a school in the States for her last year of high school (just like Elisa and Raquel did). Josue is home schooling, and on summer break right now.
